MSR1 TXB0108 Max output current

Hi all,

I would like to know what the Max. output current of a/the single/total TXB0108 output/s is.
Reading the datasheet of the TXB0108 it states:

IOK Output clamp current VO < 0 –50 mA
IO Continuous output current· ±50 mA
Continuous current through VCCA, VCCB, or GND ±100 mA

Does this mean that a single output can be Max. 50 mA and the total of all outputs can be Max. 100 mA ?
(not sure what clamp means also)

TIA,
Nico Schoemaker

Hi Nico, you think you can edit your post title and change MRS1 to MSR1 (this is the real name) so we can help the search function of the site?

A clamp circuit will regulate and begin to shut down (reduce current) at the max current out. The chips specs infere that the max current through the Vss and Vdd pins should not exceed 100 mA. Although each individual pin may source or sink 50 mA max, with all 8 I/O pins sourcing or sinking 50 mA at the same time that would be 400 mA, well beyond the max Vdd/Vss Imax specs. You must interleave current usage or use only one pin at a time at current values approaching the absolute max ratings.

    Hope that helps....

    Hi rpdb,

    Thx for your help !
I wasn't sure if i understood the datasheet corect.

    Best regards,
