Electric Scooter Parts=Electric Robot Parts
The forum's exciting new flurry of homebuilt plywood-based robots prompts me to share (again) one of my favorite links to TNC scooter parts: http://tncscooters.com/partsdb.php?type=ES·. They have a wide variety of inexpensive Chinese parts (throttles, controllers, motors, clutches, chains & pinions, battery chargers, wheels, tires & bearings) that work equally well on medium to large size robots. Bookmark-worthy. Have a peek.
Also Electric Scooter Parts.com : http://www.electricscooterparts.com/motors.html
Both sites also have Ebay Stores where you can occasionally get better prices.
If you're on the fence about scratch-building·your own·robot, maybe seeing these bargain-priced parts will get you to jump in. I built a 36V electric bike with TNC's geared 250W·motor (the lowest power unit they sell) and it is quite a stump-puller. You could make a VERY powerful Battlebot using two of those.

I sense battlebots in my crystal ball.
Do you have a picture of the bike conversion you did in the youtube demo (posted/linked elsewhere)?
I'd like to see how you mounted the motor and all.
The motor location is slightly adjustable to take the slack out of the chain to the small chainring.
Good use of that inner sprocket.
I'm working with a "single-speed" bike (it has a hand-brake).
I'm working on struts etc to place the motor over the back tyre.
I need a bigger sprocket for the motor than the one that comes with it.
The one I found will need a mod to fit, it'll be about 1:1
Electric Scooter Parts.com is where I got my stuff for my E bike . 450 watts 36W
( appears to be the same motor as the one erco has .. )
Peter...
Looks to be under construction. Where do your feet rest now that the BB & cranks are long gone?
