    Well, I had taken a look at it some years ago and I seem to remember that people call it Gameboy Z80, not Gameboy 8085.. anyway. There's a Gameboy CPU core in MAME (not written by me [noparse]:)[/noparse] and I think one could peek at it. When it comes to emulating the Gameboy hardware you will have to delve deep into the specs. No easy task and none I would take up, because I never had the real thing either.

    If I remember correctly the GameBoy CPU does not have DD, FD prefix instructions and a bunch of other stuff. So more like an 8080 than a Z80. But then it has other stuff that neither 8080 or Z80 have.

    You are right though, all that other unknown hardware would put me off. Still, others would take that as a challenge.
