Parallax RFID reader to login to windows 7

I am trying to use the parallax RFID reader to login to windows 7. So far I have the reader outputting to the computer using the prop plug and a BOE for power I can read the data using the parallax serial terminal. I have also been able to output the data to the keyboard buffer using a third party program. My problem is when I log out windows 7 acts like it is not getting the data which leads me to believe that it is blocking that data, maybe to prevent brute force password cracking attempts. One of the things that peaked my interest was http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,2845,1944559,00.asp but it is meant for windows XP plus you half to by the book to get the nessisary dll's.

BTW I know that there are many products that will do this but I am trying to do this with the parts I have on hand.

You probably will need to build a "wedge" that sits between the keyboard and the computer. If it's ps/2 a prop would probably work.

Franklin do you mean using the prop to inject data into the PS/2 port on my computer?

Are there any pre written programs to transmit PS/2 data (I cant find one in the OBEX) or will I need to write my own?

Nope, there aren't any PS/2 host objects out there (at least that have been published...).

If you go to RFIDtoys there's a link for downloads which would provide you with the programs and dll's needed. However, they are written for the Phidgets RFID reader. You would need to either modify or code for the Parallax RFID reader (not sure if you could just use one in lieu of the other).

Additionally, it seems that there is quite a bit of registry hacking going on as well. Just FYI.
