FYI DigiKey Propeller Prices

I ordered some parts from DigiKey today and decided to get some QFP Propellers.
Unit prices for 5 each are $7.59 ... same as 20 each prices ordering from Parallax.
DigiKey 10 each unit price is $7.488. Prices apply to DIP and QFN as well.

Farnell charges £10.48 ($16.39) each for the QFP parts! More than the DIL ones (£9.29) for some reason. They are probably old stock with the original prices.

Farnell in Australia charge about US$44 for each QFP prop. I wonder if they've ever sold one at that price. It must be a colonial resentment thing

My last lot came from DigiKey (2 weeks ago). They were QFP and in cut tape, so quite well protected.
My previous lot came from Parallax and were in an antistatic foam box and had some slight pin distortion in transit.

Every time I have ordered from Digi-key they have provided the QFP parts in cut-tape. I have been ordering Props from Digi-key for three or more years. I wonder if Digi-key packages the QFP/QFN parts into tape themselves. It really it a better way to package and transport them.

Last time, I bought from Digikey, just because I was ordering other stuff. But, before that, I bought from Parallax on a "Free Shipping" weekend and I think the total was cheaper that way...

My preference is to support Parallax. However, shipping is expensive to Australia, so if I can combine orders I do so.

As long as you buy the Propeller, you support Parallax; it doesn't matter where you get the chips from, maybe a few pennies difference in profit if you buy directly from them. I get all Parallax products directly from Parallax, because I work about 5 minutes away.
