NEW: Battery Pack for Propeller Platform

Just put it up a few minutes ago. I'm making a time lapse video to show how long the Propeller last (to convert the non-believers), but I think all the folks on the Propeller Forums already know the Prop is a power miser. Here's a photo:

Specs:
Battery: 4x AAA - nimh recommended, provides 4.8v to V50, 3.3v to V33

Battery Life:

• 40 Hours 3 cogs running @ 20MHz
• 17 Hours 3 cogs running @ 80MHz
• 8 Hours 8 cogs running @ 80MHz

That's using the cheapest AAA batteries nimh batteries I could find at Fry's. But I suggest you spend a few more bucks on the the low-discharge nimh's (eneloop, Rayovac Hybrid, Hybrio, etc). Few more photos:

Congratulations Nick. That stack looks great

What mAH rating are the Fry's batteries. The solar garden Led lights typically have 900mAH batteries, but I have 2500mAH batteries I use in devices on my boat. I even use them in a modified garden light including a brighter led on my boat. The solar panel does not keep up, but I recharge externally about every 3-4 weeks.

900mAH, they're 'Vivitar' brand. The hybrid nimh's are usually slightly smaller in capacity, about 800mAH. I did find this 1000 mAh hybrid pack on amazon, but I haven't tried it myself.

The graphics demo with 3 cogs (I took out the mouse object) ran from 1am this morning until 6pm - 17 hours. Not too shabby!

Nick, looks good. I meant to send you a link to some AA holders that we have been using on a product at work because they have been working out really well and I thought they would be good for your product. The customer chose this particular type of holder, because their product must remain intact and functional after a 6 foot drop on concrete.
