Reset pin on BS2p24

A real quick question:

The manual did not mention a resistor, while a search in these forums give me nothing.

Should the Reset pin be pulled low through a resistor, or is a button straight to ground acceptable?

A 100k did not reset, I tried several other values leading up to the 1k I have in there now. Is this resistor required? I've not noticed an ill-effect jumping it straight to ground, but I don't want to damage anything.

I'm pretty sure a button straight to ground will work -- though probably you want to make sure it has a 1K ohm resistor pulling it up to Vdd as well.

Ah, really? OK, I'll pull it straight to ground and move the 1k resistor to the Vcc line.

    Thank you.

You'll want to use a 4.7K or 10K for pull-up resistor and then straight to ground.

Very well then, I'll use the 10k.

I thought I'd read the entire manual for this little guy, and I did not know about the pull up resistor.

I should have known regardless. otherwise the reset pin is hanging off susceptible to noise. Guess I didn't consider it before.

Thanks fellas, for answering the question and for the extra info there.
