Caught this over on the Make: blog and thought it was just too cool! May have to buy the kit....oh wait...launching & landing from a bathtub may not be practical. lol

    I was suprised too. I watched the video at first with the sound off. At first, based on the performance, I thought it was a gas engine but its electric. The link to the web site below the video has some info on the product and different motor/battery combinations for performance. At $70 its not a bad price for a foam kit. A good design for every surface, wet grass, water, snow.

    Electric RC power sure has come a long way. I still remember the first electric boat I had, the throttle control was a servo moving a contact across a variable resistor - what a waste of electricity and run time!! The electronic speed controls were already out, but expensive. I still have that boat, haven't run it in years, decades now.
