A power supply 7.5v-9.0v DC, center positive should work fine.

    OBC

    How many amps? (So far, I have found a 9-V, 2.2 amp one, a 9-V 220 miliamp one, and a 9-V 300 miliamp one)

I would use the 300ma one. I'm not sure what the peak draw of a HYDRA is, but it's no where near 2.2Amps!

Half the time, I'm on an ordinary 9V dry cell and get hours on it before program failure. My AC supply adapter is 500ma, and I've never had trouble.
