Cool Projects to show off. Need More!

Hey guys,

My school has asked me be part of a technology show case program at which I am planning to show off the propeller chip and some of the things I have been working on.

In addtition to this since the amount of stuff I have been working on is not that infinite I was wondering if I could get some links to COMPLETE propeller projects that I could show off to students and faculty that show up.

I'll have acess to a standard demo board layout minus the TV connector and plus an SD card socket on pins·0 - 3.

...

Off the top of my head I plan to grab the turbulence demo. I'm looking for more projects like it which have alot going on with sound and with a vga display since this will be the most interesting to people walking arround.

Thanks,

Hit the Hydra forum "stickies" and grab some games...

No one can resist a good game.

Eh, the hydra is not the demoboard however. That's a problem.

This is a great sound demo that runs on the Demo board.

    Singing (16th Century, 4-part Harmony)

"This is a quick demo which runs 4 VocalTract objects concurrently to sing a 4-part harmony from the 16th century.

It also uses the StereoSpatializer object (which is very under-utilized here) to spread them out into a stereo image.

This runs on the Propeller Demo Board, but really just modulates pin 11 and 10 for the left and right audio signals.

If you have a Propeller Demo Board, just plug in some headphones or speakers. After the song is over, it stops.

Gosh I hope everyone doesn't think this!

The hydra is a propeller based board just like the demoboard. The only difference is
that the demoboard doesn't have the NES ports and uses different pins.
(The whole NES ports thing can be rectified now with an inexpensive purchase from parallax.)

Here's a guide for changing pins to demoboard compatible settings on most the games.

Here's a link to a simple way to add NES ports to your demoboard.

    @OBC,
Based on his post, VGA-based projects ("minus the TV connector"), so most of the Hydra projects would be out.

Turbulence would be a good bet Kye, as you had mentioned.

You could put together something with the SIDCog code? Retro SID music + some scrolling VGA text?
    Just a thought.

I don't actually know how to use SID Cog. I need help getting everything ready. =)

    ...

So this is what I need to do - fill 2 hours at a tradeshow like event where people walk up to you and ask you about your project.

    - I'm considering bringing a small TV monitor and having my hydra system hooked up to that with a few games installed up it. I don't have the SD card socket for my hydra so I won't be able to load alot of games at once. I really would rather not bring the hydra out however as I will have to carry it and a tv to the event.

    - I plan on making a WAV player system with the wave being displayed on the screen and possibly playback speed control to allow for some real fun with the wave files

    - I want to fill the time in between playing the wav files with out prop demos by showing off booting functionality.

I'm pretty sure the racing game for HYDRA uses the VGA output. Look at the Propeller wiki, or maybe somebody has a direct link.

A quick edit would be all that is necessary to have that run.
