Serial InkJet 96 DPI questions

Hello!
I thought I'd ask here first.
Is this critter "96 dpi Serial Inkjet Printer Kit (#27949)" still available? I confess that the search engine on the home page is trying to convince me that it never heard of it before today.
As most of you know by now I get some darned strange ideas, and this one surfaced while visiting a Radio Shack some days ago, in their drawers on sensors, I saw there a Parallax designed RFID kit, and assorted sensors.
My idea? To have a Basic Stamp sense a tag, and instead of displaying it on an LCD screen, to print it out on plain paper using that critter.

Particularly, Canon calculators use the same printhead and cartridge, and possibly many of the same chips, too.
(You'll have to study the kit documentation for adapting the parts, drivers and such, though. )
