motor help

I know very little about motors. I need to find a light weight low power motor that I can spin at exactly 100Hz and preferably for as cheap as possible. I have a prop on board so I can PWM the power to it or any other control method to control its speed. My problem is I have no clue where to start looking to buy a motor that fits my requirements.

A continuous rotation servo can do 100 rpm.

admins. sorry ment to put this in the sand box. i am using a prop so you can move or not your choice.

W9GFO I did not even think about servos. Small ones are not that expensive though they are usually pretty bulky. I can't find any though that can do 60 deg in 0.00167sec(100Hz)

It would need to go 60 degrees in .1 seconds. = 360 degrees in .6 seconds * 100 rotations = 100 rpm.

I'll look and see if I can find any that have those specs.

your right. I corrected the units in the first post. 100Hz or 6000RPM is what I need.

Well then, that leaves out servos for sure!

I did find lots of servos with 60 deg speeds of .1 sec or less but I did not find any "cheap" ones that were easy to modify for continuous rotation.

well that is one option. though it is pretty large 10x12x35.27mm the 10 and 12 are not a problem but if possible something shorter would be nice. Still will keep it as consideration under $12 is pretty nice.

wow that looks perfect. Mounting it will be a pain but I can deal with that. it is only $5 and can run on 3V so I only need one power rail. Nice find.
