NEW: ProtoPlus For Propeller Platform

I've been working on a new prototyping board for the Propeller Platform, I just got the boards in the mail and it's now available.

The ProtoPlus has a 240 hole prototyping area with a mixed 3-row and 2-row format. The pattern is also printed on the board so it's easy to see how they're connected. There are RCA jacks to output video and audio, prewired to the same pins as the Propeller demoboard. It uses slightly longer pin headers so you can connect it on top or below the Propeller Platform.

I designed this because I often use the TV out for debugging and I wanted an easy connection to the TV. I figured I wasn't the only person who did this. Layout files are available under the MIT license (public domain).

Nice! I should get one of these to go with my Propeller Module. Now that I have been recieving N&V this board has complemented it nicely.

Yeah, a nice about this, too, is that I used longer pin headers - it makes it so there's enough space to hookup the board above or below the Propeller Platform. That way, you can put a module on top, and this module on bottom.

I absolutely love it.

I have ProtoBoards galor and I want to make a series of dedicated boards that neatly fit into them. Please tell me that the outer pins match up with a the outer row of double pins on a ProtoBoard[noparse]:)[/noparse]

It's designed to fit on top of the Propeller Platform but I just checked and it will fit on top of a Protoboard, but it's a close fit - it's better if you use the inner pins from the protoplus (both rows are connected together). On the outer row, the tantalum cap gets in the way.

@little-endian - thanks! I got a new camera for Christmas that records video, so I thought I'd do something with it. I didn't want to do every step, just show a few tips to keep it brief. That was my first - I figured some video editing stuff out and did a second one, 'how to solder', too.

I am saying it here, just because I wanted to bump the thread a little. I think this is the best thing since sliced bread and I don't want anyone to miss it[noparse]:)[/noparse]

I think since this is a new product page, it isn't completely hooked up yet. I tried to place an order using a credit card but all I could get was a message telling me that PayPal needed some info that I hadn't provided[noparse]:)[/noparse]

I can't... we only use one credit card and if I bother my wife (ex) one more time tonight she will kill me[noparse]:)[/noparse]
... metaphorically speaking... she wouldn't actually kill me... she would just make me wish that I hadn't done it. I'm going to be using these cards for both my PropPhone -- dementia edition-- and to make fun stuff for my son's home study. So, it will get done real quick... just not tonight.

While I originally wanted to release ProtoPlus with a breadboard, it took a while to find a good source. But they're now in stock with a breadboard and pin sockets (so you can use hookup wire), here's a photo:
