74HC165's for inputting data into my BS2pe

Hi ya all,

I,m using 74HC165's for inputting data into my BS2pe. Can anyone tell me (or draw a schematic) how an ADC0832 can be inserted into the series data steam using the load, shift and data lines.

I don't think the 74HC165 can share I/O pins with anything else. It's not really an SPI device like the ADC0832 which can share both the clock and data lines, but needs its own chip select line. You could connect the ADC0832's clock line to the 74HC165's clock line, but then you need to control the clock enable line (/CE) on the 74HC165 so there's no net savings. You can't connect the 74HC165's data output (Q7) to the same I/O pin as anything else because Q7 isn't a tristate pin
