For a friend of mine I'm searching for a simulator software that is MOST easy to use for SMALL and BASIC circuits.

The target is NOT NOT NOT
having the most parts that were simulated most accurate at any frequency/current/voltages

The target HERE is to learn the PRINCIPLE function of electronic components and that the software is easy to learn
(how to add components, how to connect them, how to examine voltages over time

And / or a tutorial for real beginners

best regards

Stefan

Well......I'm not sure what all you are looking for.....but here is a good simulation to start with.

    www.falstad.com/circuit/

This is a nice applet, which will get many items covered with respect to operation. I'm not sure of any for basic principles of meter usage.

    I hope this helps,

    Wow James ! COOL !

I played with it 5 minutes and my first impression is: VERY GOOD!

To give a real judge I will have to play for an hour with it

thank you VERY much for this link !!

    best regards

    Glad it helped.

I use it to keep my mind straight about circuits I'm working on. I'm not an analog guy, so I have to work hard to get analog circuits right.

    Check LT spice from linear

    www.linear.com/designtools/software/

It is free, you can use any spice model (not only from Linear), and the yahoo group is really active.

I started with this Livewire software. It's designed for students. It's easy to use , inexpensive. You can download the demo. I also used the PCB Wizard 3 software. It doesn't include SMT components but it's great for beginners to learn with. I also use it for less complex , rapid designs. The auto router still cracks me up with laughter when it runs. lol.gif
