Hi,

Is there any documentation on interfacing the BS2 to a 3D air mouse?

In advance, thank you!

Most mouses are X and Y plot.Since the monitor screen is 2D. I'm not sure how a 3D mouse would work?, But adding a Z plot shouldn't be that hard.
Can You add some info on the application?

Most newer pointing devices are USB, older ones are PS/2 or Serial. The BS2 has no provisions for USB interfacing (as a host), so there's no way to directly connect a USB device to it. The only way would be to use a Parallax Memory Stick Datalogger which can function as a USB host for Human Interface Devices (HIDs) like most pointing devices. You'd have to get the internal information on the 3D air mouse or do a bit of experimentation to find out how to access which information in the mouse. There are some other devices on the market that will function as a USB host and interface with a BS2, but the Parallax unit is supported by Parallax, at least for use with mass storage devices. This uses the Vinculum chip and there are some examples in the Vinculum firmware documentation on interfacing with HIDs.
