Unknown chip

I'm rooting around in my stamp box and I found this chip. (If I need to I could post a photo). It's mounted on a mini pc board with 8 pins and has a couple resistors along with the chip itself. The chip has a "254" on it. I know I bought it for some project but I'm no longer sure what it is. I'm looking for a CT515 counter, but I think this is something else.

    Dose it have a logo on it that would help

    If all it has is 254 and nothing else that might be a·in house chip # and there may not be any hope of finding ·out what it is unless you know where you got it from

    is it possible it's a tny254 "tinyswitch" family?

    I got one of my kids to take a look at it and he was able to see SHT11 on the back. Ha!

    That's the Parallax temperature sensor.
