PPPoE and LAN on the same Ethernet port

Is it possible ?

I can assign an IP to the port where PPPoE is being used to connect to the modem so if I connect it to say a HUB or switch can I use that port to also connect to a LAN ?

Any ideas ?

Yep. I do it on my server here. Switch connects to both my ADSL modem and one of my client PC's. The server runs PPPoE on the main network port and also serves my network over that port.
