Stingray - Finished the power rewiring
I wanted to use a larger battery pack for my Stingray and decided to rewire things so that I didn't have to keep taking the bot apart to get to the batteries for charging. I decided to use a 6 cell NiMH with a capacity of 4200 mAh. I built a wiring harness to provide a connection for my charger and a switch for Run and Charge modes. The charger connector may look like the wrong gender, but I have a M/M gender changer on my charger's cable (I like having the female receptical on the bot or battery). I have no idea yet how long the battery will last, but I've been playing with the wheel encoders for two days and everything is working fine.

You just made my day...I spend some time trying to explain exactly what you did some months back but wasn't convincing enough. You've embraced the very heart of what this kind of thing is all about. Customizing and improving upon the design. If you look at my prototype pictures I had much the same setup although I started with two batteries and then dropped to a single battery. What you have is exactly what's on my R/C airplane and many other R/C devices. It makes perfect sense!
