SD Card Socket

I've found a small SD socket for a full-size SD card. I've used it on several boards and it saves board space and works great.

The only source I've found for it is Olimex, in Bulgaria. By the time I convert euros to dollars and pay shipping, they cost almost $2.00 each.

Does anyone know of a similar small socket or a better source to get these at a reasonable price?

See attached pic.

Thanks for the help.

They are expensive wherever you get them from; I use one made by Yamaichi (NMS-011-2000-1) and it costs a lot more than that from RS (£3.74). It is a very high-quality one, though.

RS has a similar socket, code 237-647, but it is way more expensive.

Use ISA connectors, gratis if you find it.

For micro-SD PCI connectors could serve, but I have not tried. What I am sure, is to use the contacts and make a custom connector.

An off topic question: Anyone who speaks English understands the meaning of "Gratis"?
I used it because it is natural to me, and I've seen in different forums.

    I'm back.

Thanks everyone for the info. It sounds like Olimex is about as good as it gets.

I've used them and I'm happy with them.

I just ordered 50. Let me know if you need one (or a few).

I also have a DipTrace layout for them.

    Thanks again,

    Jim
