I thought that You would have Heated one of these up allready??
Wrap one up in some Heat Shrink, run a couple of Amps thru er, and see what happens...

This is a very nice Product, I got to see them first hand at the UPEW 2010.
They are Very Small with a convenient shape, and now they be more Breadboard compatable,
At 800 ma it has lots of Horse Power too.
I am gonna have to find a place to shoplift a few of these...

Ttailspin, I have burned one up, but lost my notes on the measurements. I will work on killing another in the next week or so and post the "numbers".

FYI, PowerTwig BOGO sale ends on the 31st.

Cool, I can't wait to see the video...

You should maybe have a pan of water handy, or a fire extinguisher if You have one.
Also Gonna need some kind of setup that can measure the height of the flames...

    This is gonna be good...:thumb:

Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see any mounting holes.

Yes, you missed them.... but because you are correct. There are no mounting holes. If V2 makes it to production, that is one of the upgrades. Right now I have about 300 fabs for this version, so not sure when V2 will kick in.

That seem's kinda sorta like Wanting mounting holes on a Gnat...
What are You going to do to the poor thing? (I bet that would make great video too!)

It's been a while, but I am starting another run of 200 PowerTwigs. I have 30 complete already and if anyone is interested, just shoot me a PM and I can setup a PayPal invoice. Eventually, I will add a PayPal button to the PowerTwig site.

I was originally selling them for $9.95 through Gadget Gangster and they came with the DC jack and three 2 pin headers. I am now selling them for $7.99 and they also include a 9 volt battery snap. Shipping is a flat $2 regardless of how many your order.

I am still looking into adding the MTA wires as part of a standard offering (I have sold them with them at UPEW, see post #29 in this thread.

If you are referring to my M44D40+ module, yes, I have 3 built up and tested still in stock. No headers installed, so you have options for how you want to use them. These are the last three from my recent build and I recently posted that I would sell them for $17, shipped.

I interrupt this thread for an unsolicited user testimonial. I use Andrew's power twig and M44D40+ module in most of my breadboard projects. So if you have seen any of my videos you've seen both in action.

I interrupt this thread for another testimonial: I have multiple PowerTwigs, and I use them all the time for multiple projects. I can highly suggest ordering a few just to have around, they're great projects where you don't want to have to worry about the power system, and even better for breadboard projects. I have one mounted on the underside of my large breadboard and hardwired into the power rails, so that I can just plug in and go. It has a low footprint too, and one of them I wired into a power cord and then heatshrinked it. The only disadvantage to the PowerTwig is that you might snap it in half, though they are a little more durable than they look.

The M44D40+ is also really useful, but it needs a catchy name to fit in with the PowerTwig. :)

If anyone is interested, I am running a sale on PowerTwigs, 2 for $12, mailed in a padded envelope to any US address. Just shoot me a PM with your PayPal address and I will send you an invoice. I will be tossing a few up on eBay as well.

Wow, that didn't last long. With a flood of orders, I depleted my stock down to a single unit and never got any up on eBay! Dropped off a good load at USPS today. I will be building more weekend after next and ordering some headers since I ran out of those as well.

thanks to all of those that ordered!
  • FYI, just to let folks know, I am building a large batch of these now for an order from Italy and due to the size of the order, I will be able to offer some at my sale prices of 2 for $12 shipped in the US via first class padded envelope. If interested, send an email to "order" at the domain "powertwig.com" with your interested quantity and PayPal email address. I will send you a PayPal invoice once received.

It's funny how I still get quarterly orders for these even though I haven't marketed them for 5 years!
