I·just learned about this useful function yesterday, thought I'd share with other·strained eyes.

Most browsers support zoom in & out using the Ctrl+ and Ctrl- keys. Try it now...

    Erco,

    You might also find many other applications support it too, such as office components.

    I use Ctrl & the scroll wheel on my mouse. You can zoom in and out of pages (and especially PDF's) with ease. I had the same reaction as you the day I figured that out.

    Of course Apple, daring to be different as usual, has decreed that the "Apple" key be used instead of the control key for this useful function. That is, unless you're using a remote Linux browser on your Mac via X11, then it's the control key. Sheesh!

    Yes, I use that all the time now. Has been quite usefull for some cheap LCD monitors that are a little blurry.

    It's like when I found out the you could just type the website name into IE (example: "parallax") and hit >Control-Enter<. No need for http://www stuff.

    You guys are brilliant and way ahead of me. I just ordered a netbook from woot yesterday and saw that trick in the discussion about small screens.

    @Irobot2, Ctrl+scroll is even niftier!
