Great to see the Propeller getting the attention it deserves. Small clarification. It's not my book I'm only one of the ~8 authors. It was inspiring and humbling to work on this book with such talented engineers.

Due date update on Beginners book

I have received about half my book back from the McGraw Hill editors and returned the chapters to them with my notes.
The rest should be done in another week or two.

Then to the printers. May be sooner then Jun 22. (Hoping)

We'll certainly be adding Harpit's book to our inventory as soon as it is released, too!

Does you book cover the LOCKxxx spin commands in detail?. I've come across an issue where I _think_ locked memory might be useful, but none of the documentation seems to clarify it enough for me....

If someone has a a link to some good doco on that topic it would be _REALLY_ appreciated...

    Thanks

    Paul

Andy Lindsay has a section on Locks in the "Programming and Customizing the Multicore Propeller Microcontroller" book.

I would pick up the book if you haven't already.

Yeah got the book and I have had a browse but it still not helping with my understanding - I get the concept of locks, but not the implementation - was hoping for a good example (with code) so I could be less lost.

So if you know of any sample code that would be marvellous....

    Thanks

    pacman

I discuss it peripherally but its not what you want I think. I did not have the expertise to guide others.
You only need it if multiple cogs are writing and reading the same longs etc etc etc
Its should be easy enough to work around it if you cant understand the procedure
