I just received my NEW toy:

The Chameleon PIC 16 bit kit has a pic24HJ128GP 24 pin DIL

and a Prop chip as the Media center/ Audio/Video/VGA

the A0 to A7 lines are on a port plug as are the other terminations.

the other board is Like the Arduino board except for the added PROP chip.

/with it comes a game already programmed called "Crate It" a puzzle game where you have to put the boxes in the right place!

3 games from the past to run on your PC !!

Lot, of Programming stuff including the IDE for the prop , /the /micro programming tools all on a DVD

www.XgameStation.com

ON SALE The 328 version is $49.99 The PIC is $59.99

The Idea is that you can program the PIC or the ATMEL 328 board

while seeing things via the Prop chip video and the end product when you are finshed burger.gif

Very interesting!

Cheers Dennis

This looks the same like my Propellurino concept:

The Chameleon is a bit like the Propellurino idea in that it combines a Propeller as primarily an I/O processor with an Arduino-compatible processor, but the Chameleon is not physically compatible with the Arduino and the Chameleon includes some nice integration in software between the Propeller and the Atmel processor which the Propellurino does not.

I wonder why the PIC24 was chosen? A dsPIC would cost a bit more but would be a lot more useful. The chip could always be swapped, of course.

I received the Chameleon PIC for Christmas as well. I have started a Driver Exchange for anyone that wants to post a driver for the Chameleon. The driver would be basically an object modified to work with the Master Control Program written for the Propeller. It's on the Community page of Chameleondev.com.

Leon: On the community page is a project for converting the PIC24 to a ds33 and like you mentioned it simply is replacing the chip. I may look into it since the chips are pretty inexpensive.

    Will work for Propeller parts!
