Mime Type

When people attach .spin files to the forum I am forced to download the file (I can't view it in IE/Firefox).
This is because the mime type is "application/octet-stream".
Would it be to much to ask for the WebMaster to associate the ".spin" extension with the "text/plain" or maybe "text/spin", etc. mime type?
Thank you

But, seriously, give Opera a try. It's a really nice, full-featured browser and seems not to manifest the quirks inherent in IE, or even Firefox. Plus, it runs on Windows, OS/X, and Linux, providing a uniform cross-platform user experience.

I am a full supporter of firefox and if I was to associate "application/octet-stream" with being able to open in firefox alot more files other than .spin ones will try and open.
Most of them being an inconvenience to have open and that will consume a lot of system memory for an undesirable result.
I read a few posts about a year ago where people complained about the same problem and in a few cases people where renaming their .spin files to the .txt extension before uploading them to the forum. This meant that once downloaded, if you wanted to download them, you would have to rename them to .spin again.
This was not only inconvenient but meant that you (the uploader) and everyone who wanted to download the file had to rename it.
I believe that adding support to the forum for .spin files would be a better and more convenient way of fixing this issue.
Switching to Opera because of a single website issue is like changing from a PC to a MAC because your Task Bar has dissapeared.
Fix the issue rather than cludging a work arround.
Asigning the mime type will take 5 minutes or less and will have a very desirable outcome that will have a lot of frequent forum users happy.

Okay, I'm not a Firefox user, but I tried it anyway to see what you were complaining about and went to download a .spin file. This is the dialog box that popped up (without my having to configure anything):
And when I clicked "Okay", sure enough, the file opened in the Propeller Tool. So I tried it again, but this time I selected Firefox as the application, and it opened in a plain text window in Firefox.
So I guess I don't get what the problem is.
