Serial Relay Board

Is anyone on this board working on / have already released an 8(?) channel Relay output board that can be controlled easily via serial commands over {ideally} RS485.

I know a whole lot of companies make them, but I would rather buy from one of the forum members so 1) they get the profit, 2) there just might be an object {nearly} ready to go that isn't in the OBEX yet, 3) it just might have a propeller as the 'clever bits'.

Failing that, do you have any recommendations for a board that you have successfully used before?, or advice on boards to stay well away from.

Even if you are currently developing a board and don't want to mention it here (commercial in confidence, etc, etc) then please PM me - I think I want to buy one {I'm pretty price sensitive, and whilst I do want to buy one, it just might be too many $ for me...}

I even recall a discussion recently where one of the Parallax guys was working on a 'real world' I/O interface card, but I can't re-find the thread...

Thanks in advance

    Hi Pacman

    Here's the thread for the Parallax Industrial I/O board. You could PM Chris and find out the latest...

    I admire your loyalty to the prop community as 1st option. Should it not work out there are nice RS485 relay modules from Advantech (ADAM series, handled directly by Advantech here in Oz) or NuDaq (Adlink, handled by MicroMax). JED micro may also have something suitable.

    cheers
