Is there any way to disable these annoying in-motion emoticons? I hate to add a rule to my firewall to block them, as that only solves the problem at home.

jumpin.gif I don't have epilepsy, but I did, I think this one would trigger it.

Your browser will have a setting that allows you to disable image animations, probably on a site-by-site basis. I just turned off your jumping lizard (or whatever that thing is) in Opera by unchecking Site Preferences -> Content -> Enable Animated Images.

Unfortunately, Chrome does not support this. Maybe it's time to learn how to write Chrome extensions...

I was an early adopter of Opera, and then moved to Firefox. I don't remember why I switched. Maybe it was AdBlock. Then I moved to Chrome. Now Chrome has extensions, one of which is AdBlock. If I can just get rid of animated icons on a site by site basis, it'd be so shiny you'd need sunglasses.

...hmmmm, this made me wonder how to disable the little beasties in IE8. So, for those interested:

    Tools
    ·· -Internet Options
    ····· -Advanced
    ········ -Multimedia section
··········· ->uncheck "Play animations in webpages"

    The above requires a close/open of IE8.

    Later,

    DJ
