BIG BIOS problems.

You Fool<--note to self !

For no good reason I played with my BIOS settings on K8V-X SE Mobo and now I am stuck with a blank screen, no sign off life except for the light on the MOBO.

I changed a lot of settings, one I remember was to do with CHASSIS another was CPU Voltage(by 0.1 volts) and Graphics Aperture and others.

I then got some error after 'SAVE CHANGES AND EXIT' , it insisted on my inserting the BIOS CD into the tray. It went through some steps which I took to be resetting , lucky I had the CD handy it seemed to be fixing it and teaching me a lesson not to much with that which i do not understand. However on completion of a couple of steps that I took from messages to be about recovery the screen went blank and it stays that way. :(

Seems like it wont even load BIOS anymore. It still turns off and On I can tell from lights on MOBO and case and fan .

I found the manual and followed the procedure to reset by changing a jumper from 1-2 to 2-3 for several seconds then back again. Then restart... still nothing. Lights come on & fan spins but nothing on screen. Have tried this also holding down delete key. no good.

Then I removed mobo battery for several seconds hoping that might have a positive effect. Still nothing.

Has anyone else got a bad feeling yet ?

Very bad feeling. If you changed the CPU voltage it may be toast. Best suggestion I can come up with is to try any socketed parts on another mobo one at a time.

One more thing, you said you moved the jumper but on some boards you also need to power up the computer to reset the values. Check the manual for reset proceedure.
