hi all,
I've ben tinckering around with the propeller and the Parallax data logger for a few days now and just got all the connections together. However I've having difficutlies connecting to the logger and writting to it. When ever I try to use the object USBdata (http://obex.parallax.com/objects/204/) I can never connect. I have no idea whats wrong, i've tried different objects, different pins, different flash drives, with series resistors and without, I'm completly lost.

I tried a different program somone else created (http://www.hapb.net/documents/documents.html) and it seemed to be able to connect however not write. (red light stayed on, but did not blink and no data in the flash drive)
I might be doing some newbie mistake, so.... Help is·greatly appreciated. smile.gif Thanks

    Try this object to see if you have set the hardware up correctly: obex.parallax.com/objects/534/ IIRC it has some hardware documentation built in. Also, have you verified that the propeller itself works? You can easily do that with a simple serial object and a terminal running on your computer. If that doesn't work, do the standard checks (power, crystal, cable, etc.).

    Can we have a little more info. about your setup, the better to help our diagnosis?

    What hardware board are you running the Propeller on?
    Can you talk successfully to the Propeller _alone_ from your PC?
    Can you talk successfully to the flashdrive _alone_ when plugged into your PC?

    @ tony

    Currently I have a propeller 40-dip chip connected on to a breadboard with a 3.3v regulator and a 5 mhz crystal.

    I can talk succesfully if you mean downloading programs and the prop tool recognizing the device.

    And yes I can communicate to the flash drive from my computer.

    @SRLM

    I used you hardware connections (pin 6 to ground) and now it seems like the flash drive detects the monitor even when I didn't write a program. Is this normal?

    Thanks for the update.
    Can you post a quick photo of the breadboard so that we can give it the once-over?
