Need Help getting sensor information

Hi all:
What i need is some help to get information from sensors like sonar and others. I do not understand how the terminal menu works.
I know when working with the basic stamp all I had to do is open up the terminal to get the information from sensors. Thanks for any
help you can offer

Generally speaking, you have to write some SPIN code to interface with a sensor, but such code might simply call up any number of already written "objects" that are available on the Propeller Object Exchange. See the following

The Object Exchange is also called the Obex by some.
In the OBEX, you can, for example, select different ways to output your sensor data: using your PC, or a TV, or a VGA, etc. Just click on the Display section of the OBEX to view the wide variety of choices.
In the OBEX, you can also find nifty objects that will interface to a wide variety of sensors.
