Easy Memory Increase? StampMem

A while ago, I bought a discontinued Parallax StampMem board off Ebay: www.parallax.comhttp://forums.parallaxinc.com/dl/docs/prod/acc/StampmemManual.pdf which adds 64K EEPROM memory. Gotta be for data storage, not program storage. Ain't had a chance to even try it yet. Can anybody shed some light on why it was discontinued and if it lives up to its promise? No one talks about this board here, yet the question of how to add memory comes up almost daily.

Humanoido

I have used this board for years, on my humanoid robots, for logging data and various parameters into memory. It was one of my absolute favorite boards and I still have it on one humanoid robot. It was first used on my multiple level BoeBot. It's true you don't load programs into it, though you can load mainly what you want to read and write, you can communicate with it and it can serve as a place for instigating an assembler language. It's very easy to use, is simply plug into a perf board and lead over the wire. I sound like the sales dept. now... I don't know why it was discontinued... another mystery from the annuls of discontinuance... btw, it seems to be reliable, I've had mine for almost 10 years, not continuously on, but working as needed.
