Reading the Pot voltage

Hello!
I just bought the BASIC Stamp homework board and think its incredible!
I tried the examples for reading the Potentiometer, but it is reading the time measurements (Chapter 5, ReadPotWithRcTime.bs2).

Is it possible to read the actual voltage that is coming out of the potentiometer?· If 5 Volts are going in, and the 10K Ohm Pot is turned halfway, I would probably be seeing 2.5 volts coming out, right?
Whatever the right value is - is it possible to have the BASIC program determine that voltage or read it and show it in the debugger window?

the bs2 will not read an analog voltage on the pins, you will need an analog to digital converter chip, as in...

then you would read the data from the a/d chip with the serin command. be sure to check out the pdf's that's listed on the page of that chip.

To get the voltage displayed you will have to do some tests to find out the relationship between the readings you are getting and the actual voltage. You can then make a lookup table to send the value out as a 'voltage' number.
