bs2e speed

I am putting on a controller for air on my semi truck, a quick attachment unit and I need a speed number for my bs2e to tell it to change settings if the truck exceeds a certain speed, I was trying to work with the parallax gps unit and can't make it to respond or get a signal is there any other alternative that you would have in mind, to get a speed value of the moveing truck?

Wheel encoders or the computer onboard if the truck has one. Why can't you get the GPS to work?

be sure to get your baud rate correct for the stamp to talk to the·gps module, also if it's the first time (or has been a while) you've powered up the gps, it may take a while to get a fix (usually within 2-3 min), there should be a flashing red led on the gps module when it's trying to get a fix, it should then turn solid red when a fix has been aquired.

I don't want to even mess with the trucks electronics because it will be a quick attach unit, I have tried to make the gps receiver work, I will go try again, are there any other products that would work with the bs2e,

which gps module do you have? try the gps demo program on the gps module page...

try this and see if you can get this to talk to it and recieve data.
