Well, I'm told there are 1000 available. I have 97 (I just sent you 3 samples). I want to make a Prop-powered board for it too, but haven't started yet (maybe I'll wait for Prop2).
Making 1000 of anything is much further out on a limb than I would go!
with a 4 layer i could fit the power supply nicely on the back and shrink to almost same size as 4.5" breakout but that would make more expensive pcb and more expensive assembly.
just a quick update. My pcb for my prototype run of breakout's arrived today and the 34373 parts I purchase so I could assemble them(aren't minimum quantities a pain) should hopefully arrive Friday, but likely Monday.
Do you still have those touchscreens? I would love to get one...

@mctrivia, @rayman,
Now that I have the LCD's I'm excited to get them working as well.
The breakout board seems to be progressing...
Anything I can do to help? "I'd make time"
Ok, I think it's time I got serious about a board for these things! I'll give mctrivia a little more time to come up with a breakout board... In the meantime, I'm trying to get myself excited about a Prop powered board for these low cost 3.5" touchscreens...
I just had the idea of making a Propeller Platform compatible board. That is, a board with all the features of the Propeller Platform, but also with LCD interface, touchscreen chip, and backlighter. This way, people can leverage the wide array of "shields" for the Prop Platform...
@ mctrivia, I trust you have found the bug(s)? Hadn't heard a peep how things are going for a while.
Even though I ordered the PTP, I'll be looking for 2-3 breakouts when available. The PTP makes for a 'painless' prototype board for my needs right now. But much more than ultimately will need.
i think the problem is my power control chip is fried. I am pretty sure I have a spare around here some where but I will not be able to get to finding until this monday coming up. Sorry I have been so slow with this. Time and money are greatly against me.
It would be nice to have a dedicated breakout board for this display...
But, I do offer a "shield build" of the PTP at a pretty low cost, which can be used as a breakout board. You can also just mount it on top of a Propeller Platform (if you have one) and getting it going without running any wires...
@ mctrivia. I didn't mean to sound like I'm in a big hurry. And don't know about your situation and the problem. Yes, some problems aren't easy to determine if one doesn't have a stockpile of parts.
As I said, I do have the PTP board to prototype with. That will take me a long way. Looking forward to hearing when you do kill the 'gremlin'.
Well I am glad to here that. I have a few gremlins to kill. I want to get a bunch of boxs for these screens made up but my CNC keeps stoping part way through. and my wife's birthday is Saturday so nothing electrical will be happening this weekend.

This size and the 320x240 resolution are a good fit for many projects, I think.
Guess it's about time for me to start designing a Prop based controller for these things...

Unfortunetly none were right and the back light driver got very hot. So tomorrow I will have to start trying to figure out why.

Did a breakout board for the 3.5" color LCDs Rayman is selling ever get laid out? I'm interested in several if not too costly.

Great. Any guesstimate on pricing and availability after you catch the 'bug'?

Similarly interested in the break-out-board as I picked up a 3.5" LCD at UPEC from Ray.
Wishing you quick find, and fix.
