odd package, socket available?

All,

I think the answer is no - but worth asking.· The u-blox GPS range - specifically the LEA package i.e. see attached pic.

    If you look at the datasheet description of the pin-out, you'll see that the device is not designed for socketing. It's designed for direct soldering. You might be able to find someone like SparkFun that makes "breakout boards" either with the device already soldered on or just the bare board.

    These types of packages are typically meant to solder onto an existing PCB and are considered surface mount modules. These type of modules have edge-pads that have a special name but for some reason I can't remember it at this moment. =(

    I've soldered one of those onto a home-made PCB without any problems. You are welcome to the artwork.
