Hi All,
·
The Webinar recently hosted by Jeff Martin was an EXCELLENT event and was of tremendous educational value.
·
If you are at all interested in PASM you should check out the video of the webinar. It is WELL WORTH IT.
·

·
·
·
One thing that the webinar made me realize is how UNIQUE PASM is, just like·SPIN.
·
I love SPIN not just for its ease of use and·power,·but too for its NOVELTY and INNOVATIVE APPROACH.
·
I now have also realized that PASM is also just as novel·and·innovative as Spin. Some of its features are not at all like any ASM I have used before and are quite CLEVER.
·
Everything about the Propeller is FANTASTIC and UNIQUE as well as·innovative from the chip itself to the HLL and to the ASM as well as the Propeller Tool IDE and the OBEX approach and the list just goes on and on.....just pure GENIUS...... I have said this before and I wish I could bring it to effect, but Chip and Parallax should win the Nobel Science prize.
·
But maybe, judging from recent events, the Nobel prize is not so prestigious after all·devil.gif·.
·
Parallax may end up creating· a NEW and refreshingly ingenious INDUSTRY STANDARD.....··maybe one day people would be demanding 5 or more years of experience in SPIN+PASM before you can get the job.
·
Thanks Parallax for making my last 6+ months full of renewed interests and I hope the new year will bring you MANY more successes.
·
·
Wishing you all Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and PROSPEROUS New Year.
·
·
Samuel

Yep, PASM is unique in our MCU world and a fascinating, enlightening change to work with.

Sadly many people, knowledgeable and skillful in the MCU arts as they may be, skip over the Prop after finding it, shall we say, "a little weird". No native C compiler, no interrupts, no stack, etc etc.

It's a shame they close their minds so quickly to such a refreshing experience.

For me, the past is not over yet.

That is what distinguishes Pioneers and Leaders from FOLLOWERS and humdrums.

    Hear, Hear!

One's first reaction to the Prop, especially if you just see the specs instead of an amazing application like the YBox2, is likely to be "what the hell can you do with 32K of RAM? And just 512 instructions for ASM?"

One's second reaction is likely to be "Wow, you can get that thing to do TV, ethernet, keyboard, and log to a SD card all at the same time?"

One's final revelation is that the Prop's limitations are actually strengths, and you receive much in simplicity and power for the RAM you trade away, and the next time you find yourself writing a four level interrupt driver you find yourself longing for cogs.

I hope they improve the audio quality because it really asks for it.
Edit: After watching it... it really covers a lot of stuff that many (me included in 2007) ask in the forums for... It should be a sticky!

Why do you say that...... I found the quality to be just fine????

Also you can find the video and many others from previous webinars here

So there is no need to make this post a sticky. All the webinars' videos are GREAT
    and are well worth watching.
