A few people said the last contest was too easy - so I've ramped up the difficulty a bit. But the prize is bigger - a Propeller Platform, Prototyper Module, and a new Accel_Gyro Inertial Measurement Unit.
The item to be identified and method of entry is right here
Update: While no-one identified the exact device, Jon had winning guess; 'Keyboard spoof? -- for planting phantom keystrokes, or translating one keyboard system (i.e., layout) to another.' srlm gets an honorable mention with his guess - 'It is a keyboard stroke recorder (datalogger).' Great effort everyone! I especially liked Bill's guess - 'An Electronic Rube Goldberg machine'.

It is a 'Keyboard Emulator Plus'. A link to the product brochure is here. A lot of good guesses, especially considering the limited information available - these little deduction puzzles are always fun.
I'll figure out the winner on Monday. If you originally entered an MD5 hash, be sure to provide the plaintext (post in the comments section of the contest page) by EOD today :)

Yep, I helped out a few days on Season 3 of The Guild. Felicia Day works very hard to produce that show, even using her house as most of the sets (which is crazy as it's a full crew of 25+ people to make that happen). I shot some behind-the-scenes video and stills, and also did special effects (the paint ball episode). This is one of the few times I've worked behind-the-scenes where my electronics skills didn't come into play.
