AMX WHole House Automation Systems and Prop

I have to interface a project to home automation. Anyone ever used AMX before? I am waiting on the lit from the client to be sent over in the next day or so but was looking to get a head start on how to interface the Prop to their system. The first question is if these systems need to talk serially or if they just send simple toggles on a wire to tell something to run, as well as receive a toggle to get input.
