24LC256 vs 24LC1025

Just tried to replace the 24LC256 memory on my Prop Education Kit (40 pin dip version)·breadboard with a new 24LC1025.· It doesn't seem to work with the 1025 chip but works fine with the 256 chip.· Is there an incompatability between the 24LC1025 and the 40 pin prop or might I just have a bad 24LC1025?· The breadboard is set up EXACTLY like shown in the instructions and on all other documentation.
Anyone have any ideas?

How do you have the address pins connected? On the 24LC256 all should be connected to ground. According to the 24LC1025 data sheet (hint, hint....), the A2 line must be tied to Vcc or the chip will not work.

DATA SHEET???· DATA SHEET???· I DON' NEED NO STINKIN' DATA SHEET!!· (unless I want it to work).· Thanks, I KNOW I should check the data sheets, but it seemed like it should be a simple replacement.· In the past I've looked at the general 24LC datasheets·in the past and the various chips all had the same layout.· A silly oversight on my part and I thank you for your kind assistance.
