HB-25 Motor electromagnet?

I am asking this question two fold. One is that I was wondering if we can use this to power an electromagnet and the second is how would I get it to oscillate? What I am working on is a wireless power system and have had great success with other methods but this one would be by far the easiest. I was also wondering if one would go from a pulsout of 850 to 650 with a pause of 10 to get a good ossilation. Any suggestions? I will also be using the basic stamp 2 to control this with about a 7.5 3amp battery. thanks for any help offered :)

How about a 555 timer in asynchronous mode driving an appropriate power transistor? You can still use a Stamp to turn the oscillator on and off and you can use the Stamp to control a digital pot to vary the frequency if you want. With a dual timer, I think you can have one half in asynchronous mode providing the frequency and the other half in monostable mode to set the pulse width.
