Where in the attached program (TSL230.spin)does it identify what propeller pins (number) the TSL230 chip pins (6 and 1) are connected to?

I think you are saying the program from the object exchange site is generic and to use the object in another program I must assign propeller pin numbers (to the specific variables in the program from the object exchange site) in the new program.
