Martial Arts kick/punch timer

I've been looking in past posts because I believe I've seen it before...of course now that I need it I can't find it.

Has anyone seen reference to using the basic stamp to measure the speed of punches and kicks to various targets used for martial arts training. And, ideally, has anyone had any experience using accellerometers to measure the force of such blows?
