Object code with downloader: XP vs.Vista

Hello all,
I was trying to program a BS2 with an object code file and kept getting errors.
One file I tried had an error that it could not find the file I was trying to load. Attemping to load a different object file gave me a "could not find basic stamp" error. When I tried using my laptop, both files worked just fine.
Their computer was running Vista, mine is running XP. The object code with downloader file was generated on a different XP computer, saved to a thumb drive then loaded on both computers.

Has anyone seen this problem or have any ideas?

Are you able to download other codes·from the Vista PC to the BASIC Stamp?

Dave,

The answer to that is unknown. I was at a different location using their computer. It was a new computer so I assume it was working correctly. I only tried to load the object code files.

Has the USB to Serial adapter been loaded properly (namely the driver installed while the USB was NOT plugged in)? Was it a Belkin USB to Serial adapter (which are known to not work)?

Good point.

It has been so long since I started up a new computer with Basic Stamps that I better check on the USB to Serial drivers.
