I am/was a new user of ViewPort.· As happy as I am now with the program, I had some early struggles with learning how to use ViewPort that motivated me to write the attached manual.·

This project was undertaken with the help and oversight of Hanno Sander, the author of ViewPort, ·in hopes that it might smooth the way for other new users·as they familiarize themselves with this powerful and downright fun Spin code debugger.

This not a subsitute for the main manual.· The key point is that it is organized around the kind of issues that new users encounter, so it·should be quicker path to find answers to common problems.

I hope this helps someone.

PS: Hanno is posting this on his site as well.· He suggested that I post to this forum.

Note: Windows will protect you from opening a .chm file accidentally.· If you don't "unblock" the file, it won't let you see the contents.· The following link will explain that process for those that are unfamiliar with the procedure.

Unblock .chm file...

Thanks Bob for putting this together. You've done a great service making ViewPort easier to use for novices. I'm continuing to improve ViewPort- hopefully at some point this type of manual won't be needed.

Bob, I tried your instructions on how to get past Windows blockers, but they didn't seem to match the options I saw in WinXP.

    Suggestions?

I have Win XP Pro Version 2002 SP3.

All I have to do is uncheck the box that says "always ask before opening this type of file".

The link I included is the most comprehensive I've ever seen.· That's the best help I could provide. (Actually, the link was given to me by Hanno Sander.)
