I'm considering getting either the "Say It" module or the voiceDirect 2 for my stingray. What are y'alls opinions? Which one has better recognition? Thanks!!!

I think both modules use the same algorithms for voice recognition and the sound processing portions are both made by Sensory. I believe the Voice Direct II has capacity for more words (60 vs. 32), but I suspect that the additional words are not really usable since the recognition rate goes down as the vocabulary size increases ... true for any isolated word speech recognition.

Is the SayIt speaker independent? What are the statistics for false positives or inability to match?
Do they use an artificial neural network of sorts? That may explain why the recognition rate goes down as the amount of words increases. If so, could I use it for other applications, like AI?

Read the documentation. Your first question is answered in the first sentence of the documentation. Ask questions in these forums when you either don't understand what's said in the documentation or something isn't covered in the documentation.

There are no statistics given, partly because they'd be meaningless. Matches and false matches depend on how similar the words are or are not, how much noise or other artifacts are present, etc.

Read the documentation! Do you see any mention of what chip is used, let alone whether there's access to it other than what's described in the documentation?

Parallax is very good at producing documentation for their products. They have good technical writers and their engineers are also good at producing understandable documentation and it's all available on their website. They also provide links to other manufacturers' documentation when they incorporate those products into their own.

I didn't see the documentation link... I didn't even know there was documentation for all the modules, if I did I wouldn't come here. But I got it!! Thanks for helping!

One of the nice things about Parallax is there's a lot of documentation.· Most of their products have links on the webstore page for the product to documentation and to sample code ... always under the Downloads and Resources label on the page.·

    Hi Guys,
How can we use Bluetooth module and Say it module at the same time as the ports for connecting them is same. Do i have to use breadbroad. Please help me out. And one more thing, if use bluetooth module, can download the program directly to boe-bot , without using USB cable.

    Regards,
