Hey Parallax? Can we have an early Christmas Present?

I was just remembering the good old days of 5 Propeller Proto Boards for 100$ and was wondering if that sweet deal could somehow re-appear sometime soon. smile.gif

Ah... The good old days. 5/$100 proto-boards. If it weren't for the expensive prop-plug, they would make nice stocking stuffers.

I wish Parallax would make a Proto-Board without the "Proto" area, just enough pins for us to populate with female headers for-example. The dramatically reduced PCB area might allow a significant price reduction. I would do such a board myself, but I would never see the economies of scale Parallax enjoys.

Check out mctrivias little prop boards. Sounds like almost what you are after.

I've been thinking about a new/custom proto-board lately. I _never_ use the PS/2 or VGA portions and in the last 8 proto-boards I've used I've ended up stripping the regulators off and putting my own power supply section in. I thought it would be interesting to have a crack at designing a "work-alike" with the same physical characteristics, but a slightly better (read more-expensive and smaller) psu section, and more proto area (remove the PS/2 & VGA sections).

I do like the plated through holes on the edge of the board on the original proto boards, the USB ones don't have that.

Every time I buy something at Parallax I seem to miss the deals by a short margin. Given my package arrived last week there must be a discount on chips/proto-boards or accelerometers due sometime soon.

Come see us at ElektorLive.nl next weekend and we'll give you one for free.

I'll ask Lauren to put this kind of deal up before Christmas. This way we'll all have something to do when the relatives show up and ask about your sensor-thingies and chip-stuff.

Propteus resembles that... and if you guys need even more proto space, one or more Proteus's stack right on top!

Check the photo's below, and for specs see:

Heh.· I would love to see you guys at Elektorlive.nl, but I am too broke to make that kind of trip - I live in Santa Cruz. :-)

Cool beans if you guys do put it up on the deal of the day!· And thanks! :-)

Oh that will move a lot of protoboards!

I wish I was at ElektorLive.nl too... but I am too busy working on PropellerBasic :)

LOL! You hit the nail on the head there Ken, the only people that understand what I'm up to are all of you on this forum and two of my friends at work from Ukraine! I'm so excited my first Propeller and professional dev board arrive today, as well as the usb jumpdrive datalogger module and the ucontroller.com PropNIC. I know what I'll be doing this weekend, wooh! turn.gif

This is not true.....many of them were displaced from their homes and were forced to migrate
to foreign atoms were they were properly treated badly as illegal immigrants and undesirables.

And to add insult to injury....some were forced to even relinquish their elevated positions
just to light up your LCD, and if you are still using a CRT then some were smashed against
your screen.

So it is not true what you said. A huge number of electrons were psychologically and/or physically
abused......but some of them are slowly taking revenge on all of us...by bombarding our cells and
causing some of us to slowly grow some malignant tumors every time you go to the dentist and s/he
X-Rays you...... maybe you can call the X-Rays the X-Men of the electron world........

Electrons don't have it too bad though, just think about the particles in the Large Hadron Collider, they're gonna have one heck of a ride yeah.gif

Samuel, an electron is a particle, an X-Ray is radiant energy. I guess an electron could still get revenge by helping to produce X-Rays though.

That is a good username......I might use it if you do not.....·smile.gif

Yes, but they would have even a bigger revenge if they create a Mini-Black hole here on our Planet.....
Imagine the commercial use though....it would make for a GOOD Vacuum Cleaner...... tongue.gif·

X-Rays are produced by a very high energy Electrons being shot at some material like tungsten.
So you can think of X-Rays as MUTANT electrons.....so they are the X-Men of the electron world.....·smilewinkgrin.gif
(I know they are electromagnetic waves....but it is a JOKE....and it works better as a joke if you anthropomorphize them.)
