Hi Dears,

in my classrom I would like to use a BS2 in a meteo station where after reading the sensors a voice tell you direction and speed of the wind.
Did you esperienced it?
What kind of audio format do you put in the eprom and how?

Thanks a lot.

Marco Moretti.

A BS2 can't do what you want. You can add an external sound recorder to a BS2 so that the BS2 controls the recorder, but the BS2 can't record or playback sound by itself. Two reasons:

    1) There's not enough memory.

    2) The BS2 isn't fast enough.

The QV606m1 from Quadrovox can do what you want (www.quadravox.com/frameset/qvframeset.htm).
The VMusic2 from Vinculum can also do what you want (www.vinculum.com/prd_vmusic1.html).

The BS2 can very nicely act as a controller for either of these devices. I've used the VMusic2 and the older QV306m1 with a Stamp. The QV606m1 is more responsive (for selecting individual words and phrases) and has a built-in audio amplifier. The VMusic2 uses a USB memory stick which can be loaded up using your PC. Both devices use MP3 files.

I am using a rogue module.

    www.robotshop.ca or www.robotshop.us

    Product code : RB-Rog-05

    verry easy to use.

You can also use a small sd-disk to store text file.

I will post an exemple soon.
