OBC, sounds good, can't wait. This year's was a blast. As mentioned before, I am willing to assist in full capacity on the ID cards and I am planning on being an extra pair of hands during setup, etc.

The 24-hour expo was a fun experiment. I'm not sure we'll duplicate it again, but I suspect I'll ask Parallax to
keep the doors open late, say 11:00pm or so. We had good things going on all the way to 1:00am last year.

The brave few who tried to run a full 24 hours were found in interesting sleeping positions around 5am. :)

Personally, as a broke college kid I like the open 24 hours option. It saves on a hotel room for a night, and the transportation required to get there and back.

No car. I took the train last time, spent the night enjoying downtown Sacramento... (of course, it was a couple days before since I had to plan a day to get from Sac to Rocklin, but you get my point).

The heat at the end of June was rather oppressive to a Northwest weather wimp like me. It wasn't such an issue during the conference, since most of the time was spent indoors, but the drive back home without air-conditoning was downright miserable.

An all-nighter is fine by us again, even if it is just for a few people to find a place to sleep. Seems that late-night projects are a trademark of UPEW crews, and they're welcome to stay in our office. Last time the kids from Texas and SRLM found enough office chairs to make a few beds. Jazzed and another guy from Central Valley lent their computers to the hacker kids who promptly whipped out their USB thumb drives full of Propeller programs. They were still working when I came back in the morning, well-rested and ready for day two. My 10-year old was so excited and worn out from the event that he cried on the soldering iron station when it was time to go home on Sunday . . . would be an amazing place to release Prop 2, wouldn't it?

Yes, Parallax's Rocklin facility and UPEW would be an amazing place and occasion for a Prop II launch, that's what I thought when I saw the late June date (assuming you can't get San Francisco's Moscone Center like Apple, that is). I was just thinking that late June is probably the best-case scenario at this point that one should reasonably hope for, and wouldn't that be great if the two events could coincide. I could live with that timeframe, lol. But this musing coming from the conservative "voice of reason" at Parallax that is Ken Gracey? That's surprising! But it sure does sound like a great target, though we understand that these things are hard to control with any degree of certainty. But take pity on us poor faithful souls confidently expecting the "Second Coming" of the PROPhet; we're somewhat fragile these days.

Hmm...a pilgrimage to Rocklin: can the local lodging industry handle it? Hmm...maybe if PhiPi fixes the A/C, he will make a "philpilgrimage." Gee...I need some sleep!

It would be, but I'm skeptical on the timing. You (rather, somebody at Parallax) realized there was a shortage of Propeller chips sometime early this year, say in May. The chips are scheduled to arrive in December, so that is 8 months from need to arrival. For the Prop II, I'm sure that you'll want to do extensive testing to make sure that everything is good as expected. Maybe a month for the tests. So, if it takes nine months from ordering to shipping then the Prop II design would have had to be completed sometime in September. Can Parallax keep a secret like that? I don't know, I wasn't around for the Prop I development.

On a slightly less gloomy side, UPEW (or UPENE) would be a great place to release initial documentation.
