looking for a small video player for composite output
Howdy Gang!
I thought - okay, I have some time for halloween... for 2010 that is.
So why not start planning now?
My idea is to make a star trek tricorder TOS style (the original series) with a 'working' screen.
When it's not being used as a 'prop' - I figured it could be used 'for' my prop. (propeller that is)
So here is what I have so far.
1 3" LCD and driver board from brillidea.com - looks great! - it works off 5VDC and doesent take much power.
Ultimately I would love to have a board that I can have an SD card on it with MP4 video/audio on it to play onto this screen, and somehow be controllable by my propeller.
I have done some searching for 'SD video composite' and found this on geeks.com:

I could hack that but was concerned about the power usage would be too heavy for a battery operated thing (2 amps!)
Anybody seen a cool board in the similar vein of the ump3 player for video? That would rock!
