looking for ideal stackable connectors

I need a surface mount through board connector that has:
32 or more pins 2 rows wide

2" or less long fine pitch would be preferable

a male counterpart can be found with very long pins.



the 966240-2000-AR-PR seems to fit these specs barely being 2" long with 40 pins but it is $5 each bying by the reel and that seems crazy. Any ideas for a cheaper version that may work better?

3M stuff is always expensive. Samtec is expensive, too, but probably not that expensive. I know I've seen something like that in their catalog.

Well I will keep looking. Digikey I think is more expensive for things like this also.

Using a 30 cent glue logic chip got it down to 30pins so this could work but requires a lot of labour.

Female: 956230-2020-AR - 2mm pitch, 30pos, 3.5mm tall - $3.09 in quantity of 200
Male: 951430-2062309-AR - 2mm pitch, 30pos, 15.9mm long if I remove middle peace - $2.91 in quantity of 200

with these parts my total board height is 5mm meaning I can stack 3 on top of the pins. I was hoping to be able to stack at least 4 and removing center support is not likely and easy or fun task.
